5 Self Care Ideas To Keep You Staying Positive
Â
Staying positive during isolation may be taking a toll on you, but it does not have to. Not being able to spend time physically with our friends is difficult and disappointing because our normal routines and schedules are no longer the same. Letâs look at some positive ways to maintain your self-care routine!
Â
1. Speak positively to yourself! Every morning when you wake up, say to yourself, âI am beautiful. I am enough and I am going to make it through this.â Something as simple as these 15 words will help kickstart your day and leave you feeling positive! If youâre not sure what kinds of nice things that you can say to yourself, try checking out these 35 daily affirmations to kickstart your day!
Â
2. Establish a routine! Your routine should be productive and consistent. Make sure that this routine pushes you to be the best version of yourself and that it guides you to meet all of your needs. Your needs being mental, emotional, and physical. Having a set routine removes unnecessary stress from your life and assists you with saving time and instills good habits.
Â
3. Get proper rest! This one can be difficult for those in school, but it doesnât mean its any less important than the other care tips on this list. We have all managed to stay up into the early hours of the day working on homework or studying for an exam. This is not helping your body nor your health. Getting enough sleep every night, which, according to the National Sleep Foundation, is seven to nine hours, will help you stay fueled and feeling your best. This will also help with maintaining your mental and emotional health.Â
Â
4. Stop trying to do it all! Sorry to burst your bubble, but unfortunately superheroes are not real. They are a thing of fiction. Constantly going overboard by taking on too much and trying to do it all will only leave you mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted. Rather than continuously relying solely on yourself, make a list of all the important things you need to get done and choose the most important. The other items can either wait for another day or you can ask someone for their assistance.Â
Â
5. Invest in yourself! If you believe you can do something, donât wait, jump at the opportunity. Invest in yourself by taking that cooking class, journaling, reading that book that has been sitting on the shelf for over a year, or taking that online work out class. Whatever it is, give yourself the opportunity to succeed and achieve it!
